World champion swimmer Ning Zetao made his first public appearance this year at a commercial event in Shanghai over the weekend. The 25-year-old is looking forward to a full recovery from injury so as to get back to his top form again.

Ning left his fans worried after withdrawing from October’s national championships citing ligament injury in his finger joint. He made a comeback recently in Australia, winning two gold medals at the Queensland Championships last month – 50m and 100m freestyle clocking 22.40 and 48.43 seconds respectively.

During his interaction with fans in Shanghai, Ning demonstrated some physical training methods and encouraged fans to start the year in a healthy way by taking part in more sports exercises.

Ning won a gold medal in the 100m freestyle at the 2015 World Championships. Despite his promising performance in Australia, Ning is yet to announce his competition plans for 2019 as the Henan Province native is still looking forward to a full recovery from his injury as well as a return to the national swimming team.
