A simulated torch relay has been introduced to promote the sports meet, and the simulated torch has already arrived in Shanghai, organizers said.
Shanghai citizens can take part in the simulated torch relay by scanning a QR code and entering the games’ official WeChat program. In the program, a participant can light a simulated torch by scanning a picture of a torch or taking part in interactive games. One can also earn points from the interactive games and use the points for lucky draws to win official souvenirs.
Background knowledge of the National Youth Games has also been made available in the WeChat program.
The simulated torch relay, which began in Fujian Province on April 1, will involve 44 cities and provinces before ending in Shanxi’s Taiyuan on August 8.
