Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan has canceled several upcoming friendly matches after new cases of COVID-19 were discovered in China's capital on June 11.

The canceled matches include ties against fellow CSL sides Hebei China Fortune and Shandong Luneng.

Originally slated to start on February 22, the 2020 Chinese Super League was postponed as the country battled the emerging COVID-19 epidemic, and remains unplayed.

After returning to the capital on June 8 from a month-long training camp in neighboring Hebei Province, Beijing Guoan had arranged a series of friendly matches ahead of a possible resumption of this season's CSL.

Due to travel restrictions that were imposed in order to control the epidemic, Beijing Guoan's head coach Bruno Genesio is currently unable to return to China from Europe, and has had to rely on livestreaming and video conferencing to communicate with players and coaching staff.
