A philanthropic man stunned a noodle restaurant and social media by ordering a delivery to a nearby bus stop.

The special order shocked and confused the manager of the food outlet in Zhengzhou at first because the order was addressed to a bus stop. But, once the restaurateur allowed the message to sink in, he was touched by the note, which said: “ Please deliver the food to the homeless man by the roadside near the No.82 bus stop of Huanggang Temple. Tell him that it’s fine to have the food. Also, please give him a mosquito coil if you have one. Thank you.”

The restaurant manager, Zhang, had never witnessed anything like this in his life. Impressed by the stranger’s act of kindness, took a picture of the order and posted it on Wechat. The story spread quickly and eventually ended up on Weibo where the response was overwhelming. Hundreds of netizens reposted the order and message and the feedback was positive.

“Very generous and kind” for the customer to do so, was just one of the dozens posted online.

The secret customer, named as Bao, saw what looked like a homeless man huddled in a bus stop on his way back home from work on June 1. He reminded him of his father, who was once a migrant worker on China’s construction sites many years ago. Seeing the destitute man also jogged Boa’s memory that his father often slept on the roadside to save money. Feeling sorry for the man’s plight, Bao then ordered some food and left a special message.
