‘Luxurious’ shared bikes in Hangzhou cause stir on Internet
New hi-tech bicycles are causing quite a stir on social media after they appeared on the streets of China on June 8.
A netizen posted pictures on Weibo saying she saw a row of “luxurious” shared bikes outside a primary school in Hangzhou in the morning. Another sighting of the yellowish-green shared bicycle was made near the crossroads of Qingchun and Huansha roads, by a media reporter.
Further investigation discovered that the bicycle is called Coolqi and has a higher specification than its counterparts and is a little more expensive.
The luxurious shared bikes caused a stir on Weibo, with many netizens commenting that they are “high tech and cool” while one said the Coolqi is the “Hermes among shared bikes."
The most impressive highlight of the bike is the three phone charger ports for both iPhones and Android phones. The phone holder is large enough to hold an iPhone 6 plus.
Once the bike is unlocked, the phone charger ports become active and you can plug in your phone.
The deposit of renting a Coolqi bike is 298 yuan, while the deposit of one OFO shared bike is 99 yuan. The fee per half hour for renting one bike is 1.5 yuan.
The Coolqi can now be found on the streets of Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Xi’an.
