Pregnant woman flees after running over toddler on motorcycle

A pregnant woman in Jieyang, Guangdong Province, fled after running over a 3-year-old child in an alley while riding a motorcycle without a license plate on July 23.

As CCTV footage shows, a child ran into the middle of the road and was knocked down and run over by a motorcyclist in a maroon-colored raincoat.

When the child's mother rushed to pick him up, the motorcyclist fled the scene without even a backward glance.

The toddler suffered minor injuries in the incident and has been hospitalized for further observation.

Police said the woman, surnamed Xu, who was 25 weeks pregnant, surrendered herself to police at 1pm on July 24 and is under investigation.
