Firefighters rescue toddler from locked car during heatwave
A one year old toddler who was locked inside a car during the recent heatwave was saved by firefighters in Shanghai.
The Huangpu fire brigade received a report on the afternoon of July 26, stating that a mom had accidentally locked her baby and mobile phone in a shared car.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the mother unexpectedly asked whether it was possible to find someone to unlock the door instead of smashing a window, even though the outdoor temperature was 40 degrees Celsius at the time.
The decisive firefighters broke the window immediately and successfully rescued the baby within three minutes.
Firefighters reminded the child's mother that the scorching heat inside the car could lead to permanent damage to the child in as little as 15 minutes.
