Four men take selfies on top of 450-meter-high building
Incredible photos and video showing four men climbing to the top of a 450-meter super tall skyscraper in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province have gone viral on social media.
The 89-story Zifeng Tower is the tenth tallest in the world. But that didn't deter four fearless men who scaled the top part of the tower without any safety equipment. One of the scariest moments is when the men sit on the limited space at the top of the skyscraper and do dangerous poses.
The video and photos were first posted on Weibo by one of the daredevils on August 5 and soon caught the attention of Chinese netizens. Many were shocked and said their behavior was "too crazy and dangerous." Some also questioned how they were able to scale the tower and whether it's legal.
The administration department of the building said on August 6 that they had no idea when and how the group reached the top, and that they are now investigating. They said people are prohibited from entering the area above the sightseeing floor and that the passageway to the outdoor platform is usually locked. They also promised to strengthen management in the future to avoid further similar stunts.
However, one of the daredevils, a 23-year-old man from Chongqing, told Beijing Youth Daily that they took a lift to the top floor of the building. They then discovered the door to the outside platform happened to be unlocked, so they went outside and climbed the lightening rod's frame to the highest point of the building.
Police said their behavior may fall under 'disruption of public order' and that they may face punishment.
