An old man in his late-sixties stopped a man from committing theft after being attacked with a knife in Yancheng, east China’s Jiangsu Province on August 5.

Wang Haochun, 67, found a man picking a lock and searching through personal belongings from a storage trunk on an electro mobile parked at a residential complex around 3:40pm. Wang came forward to stop the man.

The thief suddenly took out a kitchen knife from a cloth bag and slashed Wang's head six times.

Wang grabbed the thief by his hand and pinned him against the wall with all his strength, despite his face and hands being covered with blood, and shouted “Help! Call the police!”
