Father apologized for his boy's vandalism of Metro
A man surnamed Peng apologized for his son's vandalism of Shanghai Metro trains last year and compensated for the damage.
The boy splashed ink and urinated inside subway cars along the city’s Metro Line 11, as well as tearing apart Metro maps on Metro Line 3 last June and July. He then showed off his acts on his father’s social networking accounts.
According to Metro law enforcement officers, those who smoke, spit, litter, urinate in, or otherwise vandalise Metro property will either be warned or face fines up to 500 yuan (US$76). Metro authorities educated the boy as he is under age. Peng paid for the damage his son caused.
Peng said it was his fault for the neglect of disciplining his son as he was busy working. He promised to improve the boy's attitude in the future and apologized for the negative impact on the Internet as well.
