Foreigner seeks girlfriend for son at matchmaking corner in Beijing

A father from Israel went to a matchmaking corner in Beijing, usually popular with locals, to seek help in finding a Chinese wife for his son.

The foreigner, who said he is in his 50s, held a handwritten sign that listed his son's profile at the matchmaking corner in Zhongshan Park on September 17.

He said he had worked in Beijing for many years and is now working at an investment company. He loves China and Beijing, so he wants his son, who also works in the city, to find a Chinese girlfriend and get married.

According to the advert, his son, 23, who is 1.82 meters in height and studied at Peking University, is optimistic, enterprising, outgoing and humorous, and seeks a woman who's tender and kindhearted.

There is some speculation, though, that the whole thing might be a publicity stunt, as some netizens have recognized the "son" in the picture as an internet celebrity or wanghong.
