Babysitter sneakily drinks employer's breast milk, denies wrongdoing

A woman in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan became angry after discovering that the babysitter she hired drank the breast milk she prepared for her baby.

The babysitter lied to her employer, surnamed Lin, by saying that her daughter had finished all the breast milk. However, a surveillance camera installed in the sitting room captured the babysitter opening the milk bottle, sneaking a look at the camera and then carrying the baby, and the bottle, to the camera's blind corner.

When questioned by Lin, the babysitter showed no regret and said she only drank a little. Lin said the babysitter claimed she needed to drink the milk to alleviate her anemia as she thought that half a kilogram of milk was equal to half a kilogram of blood.

The babysitter felt Lin was different from other mothers as her previous employer had given her breast milk to take home, but Lin "made a fuss" about it.

Though Lin has reported the matter to the babysitter's company, the babysitter wouldn't be disqualified as the company said they would only do so if she violated a major regulation.

A majority of web commentators were shocked at the babysitter's behavior, with one netizen saying, "What a terrible and selfish babysitter! You drank the breast milk without permission yet you still felt you were in the right? The mother paid you to take care of her child, not share her child's food!"

Some netizens also questioned the babysister's excuse that drinking breast milk could alleviate her anemia as it "seemed not scientific".
