Falling cigarette box with lock inside smashes car sunroof
A falling cigarette box with a lock component inside smashed the sunroof of a moving car in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on November 14.
The driver, surnamed Chen, heard an almighty bang on top of his car while he was driving. He stopped the car and saw a big hole in the sunroof glass before finding a cigarette box, inside which was a lock and an electronic door key.
Luckily, Chen didn't suffer any injuries in the incident because the sunroof shade was closed, protecting him from being hit by the box or any glass debris.
He called police immediately.
Shanghai lawyer Ma Wenbin argued that if an object dropped from a building and smashed a car, all the households above the second floor should share the responsibility for compensation unless they can prove that they were not at home that day.
