A primary school student who ratted on a fellow classmate found himself the subject of his teacher's scorn after an attempted case of chocolate blackmail.

The students' teacher, at a school in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, received a complaint from a student "whistleblower" that one of the class had brought a prohibited snack to school: a bar of chocolate.

But after investigating, the teacher, surnamed Wang, discovered that the "whistleblower" was only telling on the chocolate smuggler after his attempts at using blackmail to score some of the tasty treat backfired. His threats to tell the teacher fell on deaf ears and none of the chocolate was shared.

As punishment it was the nark who was told off by the teacher, who then made the boy watch as the chocolate smuggler scoffed down the entire bar.

Teacher Wang shared the experience on her Weibo account, unexpectedly winning netizens’ praise.

Some netizens said they were surprised by Wang's actions since they always thought teachers preferred the whistleblower. Another netizen joked that teachers “act as judge, jury and executioner” almost every day.
