Bus driver carries 2-year-old grandson while working

A bus driver in Bijie, Guizhou Province who carried his two-year-old grandson while working said he did so because nobody could take care of the child at home.

In recently released footage the driver can be seen holding the toddler in his left arm while using the steering wheel with his right hand. He even taught the child to help turn the wheel and press the horn.

But the toddler got a bit excited, and his overzealous horn tooting soon caught the attention of traffic police who stopped the dangerous behavior before anything went wrong.

The police officer educated the driver about the dangers of allowing a toddler to drive a vehicle with complete disregard to the safety of passengers and others on the road, and asked the grandma of the child to take the toddler away immediately.

The driver, surnamed Yao, was fined 50 yuan (US$7.54) and lost two demerit points from his license.
