The man didn’t have enough time to get across the street before the crossing light turned red. The woman offered to carry him on her back at first but the man declined, according to a traffic policeman from Linhai Public Security Bureau surnamed Wang.

Wang noted that pedestrians still have priority to cross if the traffic light changes while they're still crossing. The female driver didn’t violate traffic laws when she parked in front of the zebra crossing to help the man, he added.
