Two children hurt after tiger escapes from circus cage
Two children were hurt when a tiger escaped from a cage and jumped to attack viewers during a circus show at a temple fair in Shanxi Province on November 25.
The two children have been treated and are out of hospital, as The Beijing News reported, citing the village’s party secretary surnamed Lin.
As a video shot by a viewer on the scene showed, a large group of people were gathered around the railed-off performance area when the attack occurred.
Two animal trainers tried to gain control of the tiger using sticks. The terrified crowd fled the scene after the incident happened.
According to a witness, the crowd was so large that they were pressing against the cage, which somehow led to the door coming open.
The tiger was soon caught and put back in its cage.
