Doctor suspended for playing mahjong during examination

A doctor in a hospital in northeastern China has been suspended for a year for playing mahjong while conducting examinations on patients, Thepaper.cn reported.

The doctor from Wuchang People’s Hospital in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province, was seen in a video operating a medical device to examine the patient while playing mahjong on her mobile phone on December 10.

The hospital started an investigation after the video was spread online and confirmed the doctor, named Liu Chunxia, was with its radiology department.

Liu was seen asking the patient to raise their arms through a microphone while the background music of the mahjong game was blaring out.
