Man searches for PLA soldier who saved his life a decade ago
Qiang Tianlin, who was saved by a PLA officer during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, is now searching for his rescuer after becoming a soldier himself, CCTV reported.
Qiang was a middle school student in Qingchuan, Sichuan Province 10 years ago when earthquakes suddenly hit the region, causing landslides.
While in the path of danger, Qiang had no idea how to react. Just at that moment a PLA soldier rushed towards him, blocking falling stones with his body.
The PLA soldier took Qiang to a temporary residence and gave him bread and milk.
Before leaving the area, the man also encouraged Qiang to study hard and fulfill his dreams.
After great effort, Qiang has now become a soldier as well, joining the China International Search and Rescue Team. He posted a video online in the hope of finding the officer.
He wants to thank the man for saving his life and enabling him to also become someone who helps others, he said.
