A young man in Nantong, Jiangsu Province held dropped overhead cables in freezing weather for more than 20 minutes to allow traffic to pass underneath, The Paper reported.

The incident happened at noon on Thursday as the 21-year-old man, surnamed Xu, was on his way home. He soon discovered dropped cables had blocked the road, causing a traffic jam.

He then drove his car under the cables and climbed on the bonnet to hold them up amidst cold weather for more than 20 minutes, allowing traffic to pass underneath.

The moment was captured on video by a witness, who shared it online before it unexpectedly went viral.

Chinese netizens applauded Xu for his act, remarking that his considerate attitude warmed a lot of hearts.
