Grandma hangs grandson with rope to pick up dropped quilt
A grandma in Qidong, Jiangsu Province hung her 10-year-old grandson by a rope from a fourth floor balcony to fetch a dropped quilt last Friday, forcing firefighters to come and save the day, The Paper reported.
The grandmother decided her only option, after a quilt was blown away by the wind, was to lower her grandson over the edge and down to the third floor balcony below since no one lived in the apartment.
Though the boy succeeded in picking up the quilt, he was trapped on the balcony and couldn't get back to the fourth floor. The grandma was then forced to ask firefighters for help.
After rescuers arrived on scene, one of them climbed onto the third floor via a 15-meter extension ladder, tied ropes around the boy and put a safety helmet on his head.
With great efforts he was successfully rescued 10 minutes later, and the grandmother was given a lesson on the dangers of her actions.
Hopefully she won't go dangling her grandson from high buildings again!
