'Hunan's fattest person' loses 75kg, hopes to find a girlfriend

A 27-year-old man once believed to be "Hunan's fattest person" has lost 75 kilograms after a surgical procedure and lots of exercise, the Shanghai-based Knews has reported.

Liu Ping, 1.67 meters tall, weighed a staggering 170 kilograms in 2016.

He used to eat a bowl of malatang (a Sichuan-style meat and vegetable soup), two bottles of coke and a pile of snacks almost every day.

Liu underwent a surgical procedure called Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy at the beginning of 2017. The surgery restricts the amount of food a person can eat by reducing the size of the stomach.

After that, he began to slim down with the help of exercise, as per his doctor's advice.

After great effort he has lost 75 kilograms and will receive further surgery to remove excess skin. He plans to lose another 15 kilograms.

After a successful weight loss, the confident Liu's set himself a New Year resolution: to find a girlfriend.
