18 green lights a lifeline for pregnant woman
Traffic police in Mianyang of southwest China’s Sichuan Province turned 18 traffic lights green to make way for a pregnant woman suffering internal bleeding on February 20, as Cover News reported.
The woman was taken from the city’s Youxian District to the Mianyang Central Hospital, a journey of about 12 kilometers.
Traffic police opened up a green channel to clear the way, allowing the woman to complete the journey in just nine minutes — it would take half an hour under normal conditions.
The mother and baby are currently doing fine and being treated at the hospital.
