Street-sweepers in Maanshan, Anhui Province, led others in gathering up 30,000 yuan (US$4,745) in cash that blew around the street after its owner put it on the top of his car and then drove off, forgetting about the money.

The incident happened on March 9, Knews reported.

A man, surnamed Qian, had put the cash on the roof of his car, but then drove off. The cash started blowing out of the envelope and the envelope later dropped to the ground.

The cash fell from the car for about 200-300 meters.

Qian kept driving but several street cleaners and passers-by gathered the notes. The cleaners also stopped other cars so the notes would not be blown away.

Police arrived at the scene soon after and contacted Qian after checking the car plate information.

All money was returned to its careless owner.
