Shanghai auntie stuck inches from racing Metro after prying open safety doors

Everyone knows Shanghai aunties are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to racing onto the Metro, but one got more than she bargained for after wrestling with closing safety doors on the subway recently, as thepaper.cn reported.

The unidentified woman became trapped between subway safety doors and a racing train after she pried the doors open as they were closing at Bao’an Highway Station along Metro Line 1 on April 23.

As a terrifying video shot by a fellow passenger shows, the woman was stuck just inches away from the speeding train as it accelerated away.

Metro staff rushed to her aid after noticing the situation and pulled her out.

At least one auntie will probably be a little more measured when getting on and off Shanghai's Metro in the future.
