Missing bike seat forces man on perilous journey

A man in Shanghai was captured riding a shared electric scooter in an awkward posture Monday morning.

A man in Shanghai was captured riding a shared electric scooter in an awkward position Monday morning, Knews reported.

In footage circulated online, the young man can be seen riding in an upright position, with one leg stretched out and one bent. Some said it looked, at first, like he was "practicing kung fu."

However, a closer look revealed the seat of the scooter was missing and only a pole remained, forcing the man to ride in a perilous position.

Chinese netizens were shocked to see the video and conceded that the man must have been in a real hurry to take such a risk with his posterior.

"Even if he was in a hurry, he should have found another scooter," one netizen joked. "I am loathe to imagine the consequences if he suddenly forgot there was no seat behind him!"
