Food courier holds driver trapped in overturned truck
A food delivery man in southwest China held up a driver who was trapped in an overturned truck for almost an hour, Knews reported.
Two trucks crashed into paddy fields after the two drivers tried to avoid a collision on a slope in Tongren, Guizhou Province, on June 7.
One of the drivers became stuck after his vehicle overturned, causing serious damage to the driver's cab.
A food delivery man, Zhou Yi, who happened to pass by, rushed to help.
He squeezed into the truck and held the driver's head in his arms as the driver was dangling upside down in the cab with his legs stuck.
While waiting for rescue, Zhou kept comforting the driver and told him not to give up.
He continued holding him even when rescuers arrived at the scene.
After about 20 minutes, the driver was finally freed and sent to hospital where doctors said he had broken his leg.
Chinese netizens praised the food courier for his love and support of a stranger, with one commenting: "It's these kinds of people that really show humanity at its best."
