Police help missing girl wash feet before reuniting with grandma
A lost 5-year-old girl in east China was taken good care of by police before finally being reunited with her grandma at the police station on June 8, People's Daily reported.
Police in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province found a little girl was playing alone on the roadside with bare feet around 6:30am when they were patrolling the streets.
They tried to find her guardians nearby but failed after searching for half an hour.
They then took her to Duanzhuang Police Station where one of them, Wang Peng, gave the girl some food and helped her wash her dirty feet.
The girl's grandma rushed to the police station about two hours later after she was informed by police.
She said the girl, who is 5 years old, has lived with her since her parents divorced. She works as a sanitation worker and forgot to lock the door when she went to work that morning, causing the girl to leave home alone.
Police remind all guardians not to leave their children home alone.
