Driver races off bus to chase down phone thief

A bus driver and a passenger chased down a thief and successfully helped a woman get her stolen mobile phone back, thepaper.cn reported on Tuesday.

The woman's phone was stolen by a man who followed her when she was getting on a bus in Haikou, Hainan Province, on July 8.

She shouted after realizing what had happened and got off the bus to try to get her phone back.

The bus driver, Lu Hui, and another passenger also raced off to chase the suspect.

The chase lasted only around 100 meters before the flustered man finally threw the phone to the ground.

Because a busload of passengers were waiting for him, Lu quickly picked up the phone and got back on board after returning it to the thankful woman.
