The male nurse, Yang Chen

A food delivery man rushed into the emergency hall of First People's Hospital of Yuhang District in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, at 11:30pm after he received a special order which didn't have a name attached.

The order was addressed to "a doctor wearing a black pair of glasses" at the consultation desk.

The courier asked a nurse, Yang Chen, for help, but they failed to find the mysterious male doctor in black glasses after a short search.

At the time, Yang received a message on WeChat from the relative of a patient who thanked him for his help and said she ordered some food for him.

It reminded Yang of an incident that happened around 8pm when a kid was sent to hospital by ambulance due to high fever. His panicked mother was by his side.

The mother didn't have any cash with her after leaving home in a hurry and had to ask Yang for help when she was told the only acceptable online payment was Alipay, which she didn't have.

Yang soon helped her pay the 2,000 yuan (US$299) hospitalization expenses, which she transferred to him via WeChat.

The woman said Yang even accompanied them when her child was seeing a doctor, which greatly touched her. When discovering Yang was still busy working late at night, she decided to order some food for him as she thought he must be hungry.

She asked the restaurant to write a note and put it with the food, which read: "Thank you for helping me in my most panicked and helpless time, from a mother."

"I felt excited," the doctor said later. "For me, it was just a small thing to do, but unexpectedly the woman remembered it in her heart."
