A firefighter in northwest China bent down to create a bridge for a granny during a flood rescue on July 22, people.cn reported.

Heavy downpours suddenly hit Lanzhou New Area, Gansu Province, causing a flood in Pingxian Village.

Local firefighters soon set out to rescue trapped villagers.

A granny walking with the aid of a crutch was helped across a wide and deep ditch by a rescuer, who jumped in and bent down to form a man-made bridge.

The touching moment was caught on camera and soon went viral online, receiving numerous "thumbs-up" from Chinese netizens.

"Firefighters always protect residents in danger — they are the most lovely and respectable people," one remarked.
