Son left at Metro platform after mother narrowly beats closing door

A boy was left at a Metro platform alone after his mother narrowly squeezed onto a train as the door was closing, Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.

The incident happened at Huangjinkou Station on Metro Line 4 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, on July 30.

As CCTV footage shows, both the mother and her son try to rush onto the train as the door begins to close.

The boy failed and narrowly avoided being caught in the door.

Luckily he was stopped by a staffer in time who comforted him after he burst into tears.

Metro staff helped contact the boy's mother who returned to the station soon after and took her son away.

Chinese netizens criticized the mother for her "dangerous" and "irresponsible" behavior and said they hope she learned a lesson from the incident.
