An off-duty firefighter in east China saved a boy dangling from a laundry rack on the fifth floor of his apartment building on September 20, Modern Express reported.

The 7-year-old was home alone when he climbed onto the balcony of his family's apartment in Rugao, Jiangsu Province, and fell out of the window, getting his head stuck between the rails of the drying rack.

Tightly holding onto the rack, he shouted for help. Firefighter Qiu Chunjie, 39, who was passing by, immediately ran up to the fifth floor and reached the stricken boy by climbing over from the next door neighbor's balcony.
