Man subdued by passengers after grabbing bus steering wheel

A video of a man being subdued by a fellow passenger as he tried to grab the steering wheel has gone viral online. The man has been detained by police, thepaper.cn reported.

The man cursed the driver and tried to snatch the steering wheel after he missed his stop in Qujing of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, the report said.

As security footage showed, a bus passenger in his 70s rushed to grab the man from behind — he was soon helped by several fellow passengers. Meanwhile the driver stopped the bus on the side of the street.

The director of the bus company said that the man was likely to have been under the influence of alcohol. No one was injured in the incident.

A bus that plunged off a bridge in China's Chongqing on October 28, killing 15, occurred after the driver was attacked by an angry passenger.
