A 2-meter-long boa constrictor was found in a middle school in Baise of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on February 19, thepaper.cn reported.

A gardener at Tianlin Middle School reported to police that he found a boa constrictor weighing about 4.5kg at the school gate.

Police found it was in a hibernation-like state and barely moved when they arrived on the scene. They packed it into a carton after putting it in a bag and then set it free at the Cenwang Laoshan Nature Reserve.

According to the forestry police, boa constrictors are a first-class state-protected animal. They suggest the public contact police promptly if they discover one, and to avoid shaking the ground, disturbing or hastily capturing it.
