A pair of sisters from Zhoukou in central China’s Henan Province have set up a library at their home for kids in their neighborhood, using only books collected from the garbage, thepaper.cn reported.

Wu Nannan, 12, has packed one room of her home with books that she and her younger sister collected and welcomes children living nearby to come to read. The library is full of kids during holidays and at weekends.

Wu said she started to keep books in good condition that she found in garbage collected by her grandma Wang Sulan. She sent the others to be recycled. Now she helps her grandma collect them.

Books only go into the library after being thoroughly cleaned.

They have also received many donations and their collection is already over 10,000.

New chairs and tables have been put in the room thanks to the local government.
