A man from northeast China’s Liaoning Province has been making wheelchairs for pets with disabilities for 13 years. He has made 10 thousands of wheelchairs for dogs, cats, goats or horses, thepaper.cn reported.

Gao Xiaodong, owner of a pet wheelchair factory in Huludao city, said some disabled pets learned to walk and some others’ lives were extended with the help of the custom-made wheelchairs.

Gao was inspired by a simple handmade wheelchair a man made for his disabled puppy in 2003 and began to develop wheelchairs for pets.

He began selling his products overseas in 2009 and has sold over 10 thousand in the past three years. Wheelchairs for dogs make up more than 90 percent of sales.
