Police were called after the number of stray cats in a residential complex began shrinking in China’s Guangxi recently.

Residents suspected somebody was poisoning the cats.

But investigation found there is a fire hydrant which has a leaking problem. The stray cats drink from the fire hydrant, more than 10 of which have then died.

Further investigation is underway.
