A large banner of a fake road at the end of a blocked-off street outside Guangfulin Countryside Park was removed on Thursday after some worried it could be confusing for drivers.

The picture showed a realistic Chinese-style “city wall” with three pathways through it, including a road leading to a tree-lined street.

The realistic banner looks like a real wall and passageway, but don't be fooled.

Netizens commented that the picture could be very confusing to drivers especially with a real traffic light right before it.

There were even three realistic looking pedestrians painted on the banner.

Songjiang District government said on Thursday evening on its official Weibo account that the picture was put up “to test the visual effect” of the future Guangfulin Countryside Park which is under construction, and that it would be removed by the end of the day after complaints on the internet.

The picture had been removed by Thursday evening, a netizen claimed.
