State Grid helps city power through epidemic

The State Grid Shanghai Company is supplying power for vital city operations and enterprise productivity as work resumes following the extended holiday break.

According to the company, the maximum load of the Shanghai power grid reached 14.8 million kilowatts on Monday, an increase of 8.66 percent from a week ago, when companies, plants and facilities started to resume working after the extended festival.

During the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak since the festival, support personnel have been dispatched more than 37,000 times to handle a total of 14,516 emergency repairs.

At present, energy supplies are stable for all hospitals, medical and sanitary production enterprises, transportation hubs and key epidemic prevention sites.

The State Grid has also provided major enterprises with emergency plans and safety inspections, including Zhangjiang Biotech and Pharmaceutical Base, the Lingang Tesla Gigafactory 3, Jabil Circuit in Caohejing and logistic firms in Qingpu District.
