The intelligent industry and information technology exhibition area of the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) will gather top global firms in the electrical, engineering machinery and printing industries.

The section this year will cover an overall area of 70,000 square meters in three pavilions, with nearly 340 exhibitors participating, among which are more than 60 Global Fortune 500 enterprises and industry leaders.

The exhibition area focuses on topics including equipment for industrial automation and digital data, high-end machinery manufacturing, industrial finished products, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Of note, the section this year gathers the global top 10 brands in the electrical industry: General Electric, Hitachi, Siemens, Toshiba, ABB, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, Emerson Electric and Omron; six top companies in the engineering machinery industry: Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, Liebherr, Doosan and Hitachi; as well as the top five printing brands: Seiko Epson, Brother, Canon, Konica Minolta and Ricoh.

For the third expo, the intelligent industry and information technology exhibition area has set up a special zone for energy-saving and environmental protection in the North Hall of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, covering more than 8,000 square meters with more than 20 enterprises taking part.

The special zone is divided into two parts: a comprehensive experience area and an area for independent booths. The former covers more than 2,000 square meters and gathers many well-known enterprises in energy conservation and environmental protection sectors, such as Novozymes, Grundfos, Rockwool and RWE AG. In the area for independent booths there will be Vaillant Group, Mannz Environmental Technology, TPI, Smardt Chiller, BWT and IKEA, among others.

The IKEA booth, for instance, will demonstrate sustainable lifestyle scenarios and solutions, including a sustainable home, sustainable products and sustainable food. The company will also bring two new sustainable products to make their debut during the CIIE this year.

"We are very appreciative of the CIIE as a great platform to directly engage various key stakeholders. During last year’s CIIE, we had lots of valuable conversations with different stakeholders and were inspired by their insight of sustainability and innovation," said Karolina Horoszczak, communications and public affairs vice president of IKEA China.
