Extra trains and manpower are being added on Metro Line 11 when the F1 Chinese Grand Prix takes place at nearby Shanghai International Circuit from Friday to Sunday.

The Metro operators are expecting a large number of F1 fans in addition to those taking a weekend break. Shanghai Circuit and Baiyin Road stations are expected to be the busiest.

More officers and volunteers will be deployed at the Shanghai Circuit Station and a bilingual service will be provided.

At both stations, officers will make sure more one-way tickets are available.

Meanwhile, the departure intervals of Line 11 trains will be changed between 3pm to 7pm on Sunday. Trains between Jiading Xincheng and Sanlin stations will leave every three minutes and 30 seconds. Trains between Huaqiao and Jiading Xincheng will depart every four minutes and 40 seconds.

Trains between Jiading North and Jiading Xincheng stations will leave every 14 minutes, while those between Sanling and Shanghai Disney Resort stations will leave every seven minutes.

Shanghai Metro also said that if passenger flow is excessive, it will temporarily stop passengers at Xujiahui and Caoyang Road stations from entering until the pressure is eased.
