Shanghai World Financial Center to open on Friday

The Shanghai World Financial Center reopens to visitors on Friday after an almost four-month closure due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, it announced on Wednesday.

Visitors will be limited to 3,600 a day, 30 percent of its maximum capacity.

The center’s observatory on the 97th and 100th floors will be open but the exhibition "Ocean by Naked" on the 4th and 94th floors will remain closed.

Visitors will feel as if they are floating in midair in the long observation corridor, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass, on the 97th floor at a height of 439 meters. The 100th floor observation deck, 474 meters above the ground, provides a spectacular view of downtown Shanghai.

Visitors must buy tickets in advance via the observatory’s WeChat (SWFC100) account, and wear masks, have their temperatures checked and show their health QR codes for entry. They are also required to keep one meter apart.

Opening hours will be from 11am to 9pm, with last entry at 8pm.

At the height of 492 meters, Shanghai World Financial Center is a feature of the city’s awesome skyline together with the 420-meter-high Jin Mao Tower and the 632-meter-high Shanghai Tower, both of which have resumed operations.

The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel is also open again but limits visitors to five in each carriage. 

Booking is required and passengers will have wear masks, show their health QR codes and have their temperatures checked.
