Seven new imported coronavirus cases were reported in Shanghai on Thursday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.

The first case is a Chinese living in the United Arab Emirates who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 3.

The remaining six are Chinese who took the same flight from the Philippines and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 5.

All the new patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 137 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 422 imported cases, 393 have been discharged upon recovery and 29 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Thursday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
