The hearing of a case related to Zhao Fuqiang underway at Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court on Wednesday.

A court announced judgments on Wednesday in four cases related to Zhao Fuqiang, who was given a death sentence with a two-year reprieve over 10 charges such as rape, leading an underworld-like organization and fraud on Tuesday.

Hu Chenghao and Sun Zhendong, former director and former deputy director of two police stations in Yangpu District, were sentenced to four years and 18 months behind bars over shielding the organization led by Zhao, the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court said.

Huang Fei and Zhang Yue, who took part in Zhao’s organization and helped him swindle compensation for demolition, involving more than 24 million yuan (US$3.5 million), were sentenced to four years and three years and two months, respectively.

Lin Feng, former general manager of Wuhuandasha, a Shanghai-based investment and development company, defrauded the company’s price differences of rental with Zhao, making the economic losses of the company over 400,000 yuan. Lin was imprisoned for three years with a five-year reprieve.

Jiang Shan and Ye Penghui, former general manager and former executive of Shanghai Huangpu Public Rental Housing Co, defrauded over 50 public rental housing resources with Zhao for illegal profiteering and caused the company’s economic losses of over 480,000 yuan. Jiang was sentenced to two years in jail and Ye to a year and five months with a two-year reprieve.

All apart from Hu and Sun were also fined 20,000 yuan.

Further investigations about other cases related to Zhao are still underway, the court said.
