A MAN and a woman have been arrested for allegedly stealing over 110,000 yuan (US$16,000) worth of objects and cash from four households from the beginning of this year in Pudong, police said on Thursday.

The burglaries took place in Liuli and Beicai areas in January, March and April.

The stolen objects included valuable bags, watches and gold accessories, police said.

Police alleged the male suspect, surnamed Han, did the stealing and the female suspect, surnamed Liu, waited outside and then took over the stolen objects from Han.

Both were caught on surveillance cameras installed in the residential complexes and one of the stolen households.

The two were arrested in a hotel in Pudong last month.
