Jiading-based Shanghai SGR Semiconductors Inc has developed from a 20-member R&D team to a leading enterprise in the industry. Its annual production value this year is estimated to reach 50 million yuan (US$7.4 million).

The company has received great support from the Shiot Park Incubator in the Juyuan New Area, helping it quickly establish cooperation with downstream enterprises.

Shiot Park Incubator is part of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the Juyuan New Area. In recent years, the area has built an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem centered on the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The area has gradually established an ecosystem integrating technological support, business incubation and industrial services.

Juyuan New Area has incubated a number of leading enterprises, such as Shanghai Sunshine Technologies Corp and Shanghai SGR Microelectronics Co Ltd through Shiot Park and Juyuan Internet of Things.

Ren Jia, chairman of Shanghai SIMIC Technology Development Co Ltd, said the incubator plays an essential part in the “last mile” of transformation of scientific and technological achievements and also a role close to entrepreneurs and their teams.

Technology R&D funding support is another factor attracting enterprises to the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. This year, Juyuan New Area will increase innovation vouchers to 9 million yuan to better support enterprises.
