"Love's Lies," starring Luo Jin (right) and Pan Zhilin, tells the story of a couple in love who bravely fight against a drug-trafficking gang.

New anti-drug TV series “Love’s Lies” debuted on Dragon TV tonight, paying tribute to the country's anti-drugs heroes.

Celebrated TV drama director Zheng Xiaolong, whose credits include epic dramas “The Legend of Mi Yue” and “Empress in the Palace,” is the series’ art director.

The drama, starring Luo Jin, Pan Zhilin and Cao Zheng, tells the story of a couple in love who bravely fight against a drug-trafficking gang.

Before the shooting started, the actors spent time talking with anti-drug cops to learn about their lives and work.

According to actor Cao, the TV series helped him better understand the efforts and devotion of the police.

“They work so hard at the risk of their own lives,” Cao said. “We hope the drama will arouse the public’s awareness of the danger of drugs.”
