1 new coronavirus case reported in Shanghai

One new imported COVID-19 case was reported in the city on Thursday, while three imported patients including two from Pakistan and one from the UK were discharge upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese working in the Philippines who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on July 15.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 32 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 391 imported cases, 360 have been discharged upon recovery and 31 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Thursday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
