Recall issued for faulty whiteboard pens

The stationery sales company of Shanghai Hero Group has issued a recall of whiteboard pens due to potential safety hazards, the city's market watchdog said on Thursday.

The caps of the pens failed quality standards and may cause suffocation if they are swallowed by children, according to the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation.

A total of 1,000 sets of whiteboard pens made on November 1 with the model 893-2 are involved in the recall, which lasts till mid-November, according to the recall plan submitted to the administration.

Customers have been asked to stop use of the pens immediately. Inquiries can be made via 13566243300. A full refund will be available.
